16-18 Funding Summit
– not an event to miss!
The 16-18 Funding Summit is now confirmed for Tuesday 8th February 2011 at
the new 4* Casa Hotel in Chesterfield. This will be a must-attend event, particularly
for those colleges who are looking for advice on how to manage the 74% reduction
in entitlement hours. It will be a unique opportunity to hear from
the senior national YPLA funding team, during the allocations process.
The changes for 2011/12 are particularly important now, as they will increasingly
‘bite’ as transitional protection fades away over the next three
years.

your place here: http://tinyurl.com/37sq86h
The day rate can be reduced
by £50 by using the promotional code LSECT50 before the end of this
week. Also, I am hoping that some, like me, will come for dinner and stay
the night before. It will be a great opportunity to network and share thoughts
at this outstanding hotel.
The hotel is just of the
M1 (J29) and there is plenty of parking, else it is £5 in a taxi from
Chesterfield Railway Station.
Skills Funding Agency funding slides
The SFA have also begun their funding 2011/12 briefings, and the full set

New free ILR Utility
Lsect has just release a free MS Access tool which produces reports when you
import a Learner Information Suite, Learner Responsive, Individualised Learner
Record, Database (LIS LR ILR DB). Version 1 contains a single report, which
produces a report predicting the impact of ESOL funding rate cuts in 2011/12
based on the most recent full year of data (2009/10). Click here to find out
more and use this free tool: http://tinyurl.com/5shjst2
If you are a provider with
an ILR F05 for 2009/10, and have the time to run the ILR Utility report today,
it would be useful if you were to email me a copy. I will then include the
findings in my presentation at the ESOL Funding Summit on Wednesday.
ESOL Funding Cuts
impact survey
If you deliver ESOL provision, I would be most grateful if you could complete
this short (10 question) online survey today: http://tinyurl.com/6lyv5dj
Results from the survey completed today will be included in my presentation
at the ESOL Funding Summit on Wednesday. However, the survey will remain open
for two weeks.
One week change
request consultation for ILR 2011/12
The information authority (IA) are consulting on a number of late changes
to the 2011/12 ILR that have been requested by the funding agencies to “support
essential changes to deliver policies announced through recent publications
such as the Skills Investment Strategy.”
Read more and and respond here: http://tinyurl.com/68f4cpq
Seven change requests have been received in total, and responses are needed
very quickly (by 17.00 on Monday 17 January 2011). I would encourage you to
take a look at the potential new requirements, and provide the IA with your
response (they may reject the request!).
Kind regards,
Nick
